Good Morning,
Good news coming from Wuhan China, the place this all began last December, only one new case of coronavirus is reported. Yes, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. But…..we are on the other end. As I prayed this morning, the Scriptures the Lord gave me centered on prayer:
Ezekiel 22:30 And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land…”
James 5:16–17 …The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.
And in Daniel chapter 9, Daniel sees the light at the end of their tunnel as well, but interceding to God “to whom belongs mercy and forgiveness” for his nation, not only confessing the sins of a nation that has largely shunned God and His ways, but in humility, including himself in the mix.
In this season of uncertainty, disruption, and perhaps stepping back from our busy lives to put things in fresh perspective, let’s take time to bow our hearts before the Lord of mercy, and cry out for our nation, not only for the overturning of this present physical crisis, but for the overturning of our present spiritual crisis; that our nation and yes, our own hearts, would come back to full reverence of the Lord as our first love and our first priority. And there, before the throne of grace, as the Scripture says, we in confidence shall find mercy, and grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)
