Covid-19

How is it affecting services at FBC?

We have begun to meet for in-person services with LIMITED SEATING so that we can maintain social distancing guidelines as recommended by the CDC and the State of New York. In order to facilitate this, we have changed both our service times and the number of our services. We are currently meeting at 9am and 11am.

Note: If you would like to attend a service, please pre-register no later than Thursday evening by calling 585-289-3883. If no one is available to take the call, please leave the number attending (sitting together) and which service you would like to attend, along with your phone number for confirmation.

Masks are required when entering and leaving the building, but may be removed once you are seated 6 feet apart. This conforms with the best available information we have to date.

CDC – “Wear a face covering in public settings when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when it may be difficult for you to stay six feet apart”

NYS - Individuals must procure, fashion, or otherwise obtain face coverings and wear them when they are in a public and are:

  • within six feet of distance from other individuals; or
  • in a situation or setting where they are unable to maintain six feet of distance from other individuals; or
  • in a public or private transportation carrier or for-hire vehicle.

Other protections: Please enter and exit only through the front doors. There will be hand sanitizer available at our usher's station (reception). We are spraying (fogging) the sanctuary and bathroom areas in between services with a qualified disinfectant. All speakers and singers on the platform will be distances 12 feet from each other and the congregation. Because singing requires more distance between people, we will be refraining from congregational singing for the present.

How else are we responding?

We are holding forth the same timeless hope in God that we always have...a hope that goes beyond this present crisis. The kind of deep down sustaining hope that comes from a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Also...

We are encouraging everyone in our church, community, and beyond to take this matter seriously and practice physical distancing for the sake of ourselves, our neighbors, those most vulnerable, and our already stretched health care system.

We are continuing to move "church" online -- offering Sunday messages, Bible study, Pastor's blogs, and more.

We are committed to keeping tabs on each other - in our church and in our neighborhoods - responding to needs the best we can as they arise.
