If you want a friend . . .

Be one. That what I learned in Kindergarten. Or at least that's what I heard. Unfortunately there were many years of my life where I figured if I was valuable as a person, other people would seek ME out. I can tell you that's a one way ticket to the valley of low self esteem.

One of the things in our current situation that has really blessed me, is how many times I have heard "Oh, this one called, and that one called, that was so nice." As I thought about those comments recently, I thought about what I had heard so many years ago and what a great opportunity we have now to be that friend. To pick up the phone and "check in" on a friend, neighbor, fellow church attendee, etc. What a huge blessing those calls are - especially when they come from those you are not expecting.

So....short message today. Just a word of encouragement to be a person of encouragement to someone else. Maybe this will be one of those things that keeps on happening after this thing is over. I sure hope so.

Your friend,

Pastor Ron
