Statement of Faith
- There is one True God. There is no other. God is our supreme ruler, Hear, O, Israel, The Lord our God, the Lord is one. (Deuteronomy 6:4) You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that – and shudder. (James 2:19)
- Jesus Christ is God. He visited Earth as a human and freely chose to be the compensation needed to make up for human sinfulness. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)
- The Holy Spirit is God. The Holy Spirit has been present in creation since the beginning of creation itself. The Holy Spirit is sent by Jesus Christ to live in the Christian believer. {Jesus} said to them: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.” (Acts 1:8) And Jesus breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20:22)
- We are born in a condition of sin. Because of sin, we are separated from God. Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned. (Romans 5:12) Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. (Psalm 51:5)
- There is no human, earthly way to come back to God. But God is merciful to us and gave Jesus Christ to bring us back to God. A personal relationship with Jesus is the only way to fully return to God. For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes on him shall not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
- Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit, changes our behavior and choices so that we can and do become more like Jesus Christ. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10) What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. (James 2:14 & 17)
- It is the duty of the Christian to share the good news of spiritual salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, to attend to the needs of humanity, and to live a life that is honest and just.
- The Bible is the word of God. It reveals to us Truth about God and Truth about living a Godly life. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16)
- Jesus will come again to judge and redeem this creation at which time those who have a relationship with Jesus will be gathered to be with him forever. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)
- God loves us so much that in Jesus Christ God reaches down to touch us. The touch of God transforms our lives so that we become more like Christ and the kingdom of God becomes real on this Earth. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
