May 5, 2020
Romans 8:20 “For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it…”
- Quote: “You have made us for yourself Oh God and our hearts are restless until they find rest in you.” -Augustine
John 1:40–42 “One of the two who heard John speak and followed Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, ‘We have found the Messiah’ (which means Christ). He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, ‘You are Simon the son of John. You shall be called Cephas’ (which means Peter).”
Genesis 25:24 “When her days to give birth were completed, behold, there were twins in her womb. The first came out red, all his body like a hairy cloak, so they called his name Esau. [which means hairy] Afterward his brother came out with his hand holding Esau’s heel, so his name was called Jacob.”
Isaiah 11:1–3 “There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might . . . He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear.”
Genesis 32:28 “Then he said, ‘Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.’”
Judges 6:12 “And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, ‘The Lord is with you, O mighty man of valor.'”
What does Jesus See when He looks at you? You might be surprised. Your best self – your full potential – is not dependent on your present circumstances, and not hindered by your past.
